In October, 2011, Ken will be moving into a studio space at Chroma Projects on the Historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia. Directed by Deborah McLeod, Chroma Projects is an exciting art laboratory that features a changing exhibition space along with a collective of artists studios and showrooms. Ken will be exhibiting new work monthly, so feel free to stop by during the First Friday art walks at the beginning of each month or anytime during regular gallery hours Wednesday-Saturday 11am-5pm.

  Five of Ken's recent collages were chosen by the Zatista selection committee for inclusion in the upcoming Affordable Art Fair in New York City. The fair showcases a broad spectrum of original contemporary art and runs September 21-25, 2011. Make a trip or stop by if you happen to be in the city!

  Ken is pleased to be working with Richmond-based artist Sally Bowring as his Artist Teacher during his first semester of the MFA program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Bowring teaches painting in the School of Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art Professional Fellowship and the Theresa Pollak Visual Arts Awards 2003-2004.   In 2011, Ken enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program in Visual Art at Vermont College of Fine Arts. This is an innovative low-residency MFA program that involves intensive twice yearly residencies on the Vermont campus combined with a rigorous Studio Plan and Visual Culture project conducted from the artist's home community each semester. Ken's first semester Faculty Advisor is New York City-based artist Sowon Kwon. Kwon holds a double major BA in Fine Art and History of Art from the University of California in Berkeley and an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She has taught at The Cooper Union and Princeton University, and participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. www.vermontcollege.edu »

  A collage from Ken's recent Blue Series was selected by the Home Editors of Martha Stewart Living to be feautured in an upcoming decorating story. Keep your eye out for the article set for publication in the April, 2011 issue of the magazine, which will be released in March!

  Ken was selected as one of ten artists, from the hundreds of artists featured on Zatista, to participate in a charity auction to coincide with Art Basel, 2010 in Miami. The proceeds benefited Housing Works in New York City, which is committed to ending the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness. His piece titled Playing Field, pictured at left, sold in the auction.

  Ken is the featured artist at BozArt Gallery (211 W. Main St. in Cville) during the month of July, 2010. Please join him for the opening of his show "Flooding the Space between Sleep & Wake" on First Friday July 2nd from 5-9 PM. Artwork by his sister-in-law Lindsay Burn will also be featured. Show will run through the month of July.
